V&A Trip to London

On Friday 15th of January we took a trip to the V&A art museum in London, where we had a brief on advertising, with Cara, to try and get more young people to come to the museum, we also has the chance to see some originals of advertising posters from the past. I think the visit helped me because it showed me what the client wants and the limits to what i'm aloud to do. From this i will try to work my designs within the boundary's. I now have to produce poster designs and other promotional material to attract young people into the museum, from what i have seen i think this will be hard, as the museum has a large range of old and historic art and have a small area that would attract young people as it is not as modern and up to date as other museums like the Tate and the design museum.

flash based websites

I was asked to look up flash sites and i looked on the www.thetwa.com

Here are 5 sites that i chose which were my favorite:

In Photoshop I have used many file types; psd, jpg, tiff, pdf, gif. TIFF - this is a tagged image file format, which is used for bit-mapped images.

JPEG – this is short for joint photographic experts group, it’s a lossy compression format for colour images. JPEG can usually reduce a file size to about 5% of its normal size.
GIF – this stands for graphics interchange format. It a bit-mapped graphics file format used by the Internet. GIF supports colour and various resolutions.
PDF – short for portable document format. This captures formatting information, and makes it possible to send a document as it was intended to be viewed. In the past it was only used by graphic artists and designers but today PDF and be used for virtually any data.
SWF – this stands for shockwave flash. It is a format for displaying animated vector graphics on the web.

HTML – this is a hyper text mark-up language, it is used to crate documents on the web. It is created using tags and codes. Starting with .

CSS – cascading style sheets, this is like html but the user has more control over how the pages are displayed.
