HypeforType
Designer Alex Haigh of Nottingham, England recently launched a new type foundry entitled HypeForType. Acclaimed designers Si Scott and Alex Trochut have both released exclusive typefaces through HypeForType: Hunter and Neo Deco respectively. Alex Haigh runs the studio Thinkdust and dreamed-up the idea of HypeForType out of a desire for high quality affordable typefaces. Alex managed to bring HypeForType from concept to launch in just over a year. Though he admits that he has only been able to get 1-2 hours a sleep on average each night.
I like these types because they are quite futuristic and modern.

Progression after College
Here are some screen shots i took of Southampton University and of Norwich University for the arts. I was more interested in these colleges because they focus their graphic design on typography and advertising. I have been interested in advertising since i went to the D&AD awards and talked to a student about a Advertising and Brand Management course at Staffordshire university. To get into these University's i need a minimum of 220 ucas points and to look up funding. i want a course which is more advertising, marketing and branding opposed to illustrating and printing.

Machine 56
I found Machine56 when i looked at the hot links on terratag.com. This is a website that designs and prints T-shirts, i have brought one myself. Machine56 is a vector designer. When i looked at his work i saw the typography and really liked it. Some of his helmets and robot designs are quite cool aswell.
2012 Oylmpic education logo competition
This year myself and the class entered a competition to design an infill for the 2012 Olympic education logo in which I was one of the six finalists. We were invited up to London to Canary Wharf to meet some of the Directors of the Olympics and pitch my design to them. Unfortunatly i did not win but have been offered a weeks work experience at a London Design firm. Still it was a good achievement to be one of the six finalists and to be involved with the event.

Unit 10 Blog
Today I have created this blog for my Unit 10 for my second year Graphic Design course. This unit is a personal and professional development, which looks at progression onto university or a career. I'm going to use this as a resource for web links, to document current projects and even to store my research.
